Mark Wilson - Biography
Mark Wilson has been crowned Australian Dancesport Champion on five occasions - four times in New Vogue and once in Modern. He has competed throughout the UK, Europe and Japan. On two occasions he came 15th in the World Dancesport Championship finals, once at Blackpool, England in 1989 and again in Tokyo, Japan, in 1990. Mark has also appeared in popular ABC TV show That’s Dancin', winning the professional series.
Mark is a well-respected judge, with his expertise widely regarded in the industry. He has adjudicated in most major Championships in Australia, including the Tattersalls Australian Dancesport Championship. He is also a Professional MC, having worked for
Pacific Magazines, Masterfoods, and L’Oreal.
Mark is the director of two businesses and enjoys employing young people and giving them a feeling of self worth as important participants in Australia's growing society. He teaches at his own full-time studio teaching students of all ages, from beginners to medalists and competition couples.
Mark coaches new judges and acts as a junior development officer for Dancesport Victoria and its school dance programs.
Most recently Mark was appointed the Marketing Manager for the Australian Dancesport Championships and sits on a committee advising Dancesport Australia in a marketing capacity. He is also on the organising committee for the 2008 World Latin Dancesport Championship.
Mark has featured in several
Channel Seven specials and appeared in a number of commercials and was a contestant on Series 3 of
It Takes Two this year.
