Season 4 Secret Clue 13

Welcome back to the Lost Secret Clue, where we dig deeper to find the clues and secrets you might've missed to fuel your theories! This week's episodes, 'There's No Place Like Home Pt 2 & 3'', was one hell of a way to see out the season, and they actually moved the island. The unbelievable took place, a miracle in front of everyone's eyes... and yet still some could not be convinced. The episode was jammed with enough mysteries, clues and questions to tide us over until Lost returns next year, but it also presented us with a ton of questions we've been asking all season. The big reveal? The Oceanic Six didn't leave the island, the island left them. Deaths, discoveries, deceit, time travelling bunnies and a frozen donkey wheel...

Rather than trying to cover everything that happened in the episode as a whole, let's take a closer look at all our characters and see where they are now:

Jack: Talk about a fall from grace; by the end of this episode, our heroic leader couldn't look any worse. Close-minded to the very end, Jack simply was not budging on his plan to get everyone off the island... as long as he left first. He definitely earned Sun's wrath for his actions regarding Jin and we can see why his relationship with the rest of the 06 is so frayed - if he didn't upset them for life with his actions on the raft, copter and boat, his pill-popping sloppiness would've driven them away for good. The most surprising Jack revelation this episode was, without a doubt, the fact that he concocted the lie. Not Oceanic, not Widmore... Heroic Dr Jack.

Hurley: Of all the Oceanic Six, Hurley was always going to be the first to crack and all the flashes have shown how tenuous Hurley's grasp on reality has become. We didn't see too much of his fate, but we do now he's now been taken to a safehouse under Sayid's watch. Did you notice how icy their re-introduction was? Hurley barely wanted to acknowledge him... probably because most of the people he sees from the island are dead. Playing chess with Mr Eko?

Sun: Sun has become the polar opposite of her pre-island life, taking control of her Dad's company and making moves towards getting herself back to the island. Never in a million year, though, could we have imagined she'd willingly align herself with Widmore, to the point of seeking him out. The problem is, we know she blames Jack for the death of Jin. Will she work alongside the rest of the Oceanic Six in order to get back to the island, or is she now working against them?

Sayid: We only caught a brief glimpse of Sayid in the future (present?) in this episode, but it spoke columes as to where his head is at. He appears to still be working for Ben, though we can't know for certain. We do know he's still as badass as ever, killing the man running surveillance on Hurley at exactly 8.15pm and scurrying him away to safety. Where is this secret location they're heading for?

Kate: Poor Kate's troubled times in the future seem to only be starting. Whereas everyone else's lives have turned miserable or worse, Kate's seems to have held together well... until both Bentham and Jack come to her, begging her to return to the island. It isn't until her bothersome dream, however, that she seems to contemplate the idea. She's receiving conflicting messages though; the voice on the phone said "The Island needs you. You have to go back before it's too late" in reverse, while Claire was telling her "Don't bring him back, Kate. Don't you dare bring him back!" The question is though, was Claire talking about Aaron... or Locke?

Desmond: If you didn't shed a tear, or at least get a little choked up, when Desmond and Penny finally reunited, you're not human. After eight years of searching, the two star-crossed lovers ended up in each others' arms. Jack's line to Desmond, "Don't let them find you", doesn't speak well for Desmond's future. Considering we know Ben has vowed to kill Penny, how long until the ex-Head Other comes to claim his vengeance? Even more distressing - what if he sends Sayid?

Frank: Will we see Frank again? I certainly hope so; in the entire time he was in contact with the 815ers, he never once asked about his pilot friend Seth Norris! When the Oceanic Six return to the island, will he have to be among them? Considering he was supposed to be the pilot that day, his role in things may play out grander than we first thought...

Walt: While we only caught up with Walt for a few minutes, we could see the toll the island has taken on the poor boy. Almost three years after the crash, and no one had come to talk with him about his father. Well, no one except Bentham... Considering we're well aware of his special abilities, will Walt have to return to the island alongside the Oceanic Six?

Jin: When it comes to Jin, it's all questions. Did he die in the explosion? Did he manage to leap to safety at the last moment, only to drown after being left? Could he have been within the island's sphere of influence, having moved along with it? Could Daniel possibly find him in the raft? As I said, all questions.

Michael: Michael certainly seemed to earn his redemption, however short his return to the show was. Of all the original survivors, Michael had the most to atone for, and his storyline on the freighter set things for him to finish the work the island still had for him... The big question is, though, why was it Christian who came to him and told him his work was done? Why not Libby, who he'd seen previously, or even Taller Ghost Walt?

Daniel: How I wish we'd gotten more of Daniel this episode; he seemed to be the only person not in The Orchid who knew what was going to happen. If only he could've explained it to us! Well, at least he got a parting kiss from Charlotte. His fate remains in question, as he was ferrying a boatload of unnamed 815ers to the freighter when it blew and the island moved. Was he close enough to the island that he moved with it? More importantly, could Daniel have been close enough to the freighter to have rescued Jin?

Charlotte: Well, no one saw that coming! Not only has Charlotte been to the island before, but she seems to believe that she was born on it. This would certainly explain her excited reaction the very first time we saw her after parachuting to the island. This is bound to play out in a big way next season, considering the difficulties involving childbirth on the island...

Miles: Talk about a time to re-emerge! Miles hasn't been heard from too much of late, but he came through with the serious goods this episode. From the way he knew of Charlotte's past, it seems pretty clear that Miles is communicating with the spirits on a regular basis, which is why he probably chose to stay. Does this mean we might get to see him take a trek to Jacob's cabin?

Rose and Bernard: Rose and Bernard are also still stuck on the island. This probably isn't a bad thing, considering Rose believes the island forced her cancer into remission. It should also allow Bernard more time to perfect his Rambo impression while Rose guards the peanuts like a hawk.

Sawyer: Jack may think he's the hero, but Sawyer proved himself one this week. The look on Hurley's face when he saw Sawyer the first time said it all; the man is family now to these people, the tribe's big brother. The scene when boarding the helicopter was great - a jibe at Jack, a flirtatious, forgiving smile for Kate and a cheery leg up for Hurley. Of all the characters, Sawyer's grown the most, which made his grand sacrificial gesture fitting. The big question is though, what did he whisper to Kate before jumping? Could it have been a request to visit his daughter Clementine?

Juliet: Just like Sawyer, Juliet proved herself a real hero this episode. While Jack, the supposed hero, was making his own way to rescue, Juliet actually kept her word to remain on the island until every last survivor was off. She seems to have accepted her fate... hopefully a belly full of Dharma rum, a moved island and a shirtless Sawyer can keep her in high spirits.

Claire: I don't know what's going on with Claire anymore, sorry. Check back next season.

Ben: What an amazing episode for Ben - a daring rescue, blowing up a Dharma station, killing his daughter's murderer, teaching Locke about time travelling bunnies, spinning the frozen wheel... It's quite clear that Ben's existence stops the last second of turning the wheel, and doesn't appear to begin again until he crashes backfirst into the Sahara desert ten months later. Could this be a clue as to where, or should i say WHEN, the island moved to? Finally, and most amazingly, Ben is helping them all back to the island, even though he himself can't... There must be something in it for him, after all, he always has a plan!

Locke: Wow. Where to start? On island, we see Locke ascend to the leadership position and achieve what he'd craved his entire life. This contrast strongly with off-island Locke... Jeremy Bentham, the man in the coffin, was Locke all along. Something terrible happened after everyone left the island, leading Locke to leave as well for some reason and begin begging everyone to return. What could've caused him to leave? Does he now possess the same ability to come and go from the island as Ben, Richard, Tom and Ethan displayed? Or was he forced to "move the island" as well, meaning he's now banished for life? Finally, who was behind his murder? We can tell from Sayid's tone when he tells Hurley that foul play was involved... Could Bentham be the person Sun was referring to when she met Widmore? Did Sun sell out Locke in order to get closer to returning to the island for her own goals?
