‘Unusual’: Pink Versace house turns Aussies’ heads
Every week Yahoo Finance looks at the most-viewed houses on Realestate.com to see if any are interesting, but none have surprised us quite like this one.
This week, Australians are obsessed with one house in particular.
It’s in Castle Hill, which is a fairly unassuming suburb. It sits on 770-square metres’ worth of land, which is also normal for that side of Sydney. The sellers want between $2.1 and $2.3 million for it, which is a given…So what’s really got Aussies in a huff over it?
Well, it’s hot pink. It’s Versace-inspired. It’s littered with gold furniture. One room even features a zebra-patterned ceiling, with a painting of a zebra for good measure.
According to Realestate.com, the house at 3 Queens Court, Castle Hill, was built in 2005, and selling agent Paul Cutliffe told the publication the home was attracting an “unusual amount” of attention.
“It’s definitely caught people’s attention,” Cutliffe said.
“I think what’s captured people is the colour scheme … I can’t recall ever selling a house anything like this before.”
The house is open for inspection today at 12:30pm AEST, and is set to go to auction on 17 October.
