Brooke Blurton’s massive 2021 Bachelorette salary has leaked online

The groundbreaking new season of The Bachelorette is well and truly underway, and it turns out that Brooke Blurton is making more than just history as the franchise’s first Indigenous and bisexual lead.

The 26-year-old’s reported salary recently leaked online, with PerthNow claiming that Brooke is earning a whopping $250,000 from the reality TV gig.

A source told the publication that Brooke, who has six brothers and one sister, plans on using the money “to help support her family”.

The youth worker tragically lost her mother when she was 11, and her sister Ky passed away in August.

Comparing her salary to previous stars of the franchise, Brooke is reportedly making $50,000 less than what Sophie Monk earned in 2017.

The Love Island host is said to have cashed in $300,000 as The Bachelorette thanks to her well-established career as a singer, actress and radio presenter, according to The Courier-Mail.

As for The Bachelor's, Matty ‘J’ Johnson, he's rumoured to have taken home $200,000 for his 2017 gig after coming second on Georgia Love’s season of The Bachelorette.

While it was reported that Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins made $250,000 as the show’s lead in 2018, Brooke revealed on the Shameless podcast the following year that it was actually much higher.

“I think it was a bit more, I think it was half mill maybe,” she told the hosts Zara McDonald and Michelle Andrews.

Rumours about Brooke’s salary come just as details of this year’s contestants’ contracts have also emerged online.

According to reality TV podcast So Dramatic!, The Bachelorette contestants reportedly have a very similar contract to this year’s Bachelor stars, which includes the $5,000 bonus for handing over access to their Instagram accounts.

An additional clause in their contract, however, allegedly states that they cannot create a fake Instagram account as previous contestants have done in the past.

It’s also reported that the show’s participants are given a weekly expense allowance, which an anonymous ex-contestant claimed to be “under $100 a day”.

“It is below minimum wage," they told News Corp. “It’s ridiculous what you get paid. A lot of the girls were excited to get that amount a week, but I was like ‘Are you serious I wouldn't get out of bed for that’.”
