What is hair enamelling?
It's a new take on the wet look.
It gives hair a shellacked shine, without being rock hard.
Think sleek without being overstyled.
Get the look with lightweight hair gels, mousses that don't crunch, hair oils and leave-in treatments that give a healthy gloss.
How to get the look
1. Hydrate your hair
First off, boost your conditioner to get some extra moisture in your hair, and reduce fly-aways and frizz.
ColorWow Money Masque, $45, is a deeply hydrating and strengthening hair treatment.
It's rich in marine actives to deliver super-glossy, supple, and expensive-looking hair.
2. Choose your products
Look for a lightweight, long lasting gel or mousse.
KMS Hair Play Styling Gel, $25.46, is a good option that gives some shine, but also brushes out easily when you need.
If you prefer a mousse, Schwarzkopf Styling Keratin Hair Mousse, $5.99, will give a similar look.
Brush through and put into a ponytail or bun.
3. Finish with some high gloss
Complete the look with an extra glossy sheen.
Kérastase Elixir Ultime Beautifying Hair Oil, $64, is a nourishing, multipurpose oil for dry hair.
Work a small amount through to add shine and definition.
If your hair is already in a pony or up-do, it might be easier to use a spray to add the final gleam.
ELEVEN Australia Make Me Shine Spray Gloss, $24.95, is a shine serum that protects from humidity so flyaways and frizz don't pop up.
Spray it on and you'll have glossy, shiny hair in seconds.
