Kate makes first public appearance after Meghan's Oprah interview

Kate Middleton has made her first public appearance hours after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey aired.

During the interview, Meghan was asked about headlines that stated the Duchess of Sussex made her future sister-in-law cry days before her wedding to Harry.

The 39-year-old shared it was actually the reverse and Kate made her cry over bridesmaid dresses.

Kate has not addressed the claims, but did an interview for International Women's Day with Jasmine Harrison, 21, who was the youngest woman to row solo across the ocean last month, with the video being released after Meghan's interview.

During the call, the pair spoke about challenging the perceptions around what women are capable of, as well as providing motivation to pursue ambitious goals.

"I would like to change male perspectives on females," Jasmine said. "It's not about women believing they can do something because we can, we kind of know that (we can) already."

Interestingly, Kate asked Jasmine about her mental health and what it was like to be alone for so long during her row. Mental health was a huge topic during Meghan's chat with Oprah, with the Duchess of Sussex saying her mental health declined significantly after joining the Royal Family.

Meghan explained what really happened between herself and Kate, stressing to Oprah that she forgave her sister-in-law and doesn't want anyone to believe Kate is a bad person.

"I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and [Kate] was upset about something but she owned it and she apologised and she brought me flowers and a note apologising when she did.

"[That's] what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, right? To just take accountability... what was shocking was [the news broke] six [or] seven months after our wedding."

Oprah asked what exactly happened and the Duchess of Sussex said" "I would have never wanted that to come out about her ever even though it happened, I protected that from ever being out in the world."

She continued: "A few days before the wedding she was upset about something. Pertaining to – the issue was correct about flower girl dresses. And it made me cry. And it really hurt my feelings, and I thought in the context of everything else, it was going on in those days leading to the wedding, that it didn’t make sense to not be just like whatever everyone else was doing which was trying to be supportive knowing what was going on with my dad and whatnot."
