MAFS' Jayden Eynaud breaks silence on split from Eden Harper: 'Sad'

MAFS stars Eden Harper and Jayden Eynaud appeared to be one of the stronger couples on the show this year, but it seems they weren't able to go the distance with Eden announcing on Wednesday night the pair had called it quits.

While it looked like things were going well for the pair, with Jayden sharing a photo of himself, Eden, his brother Mitch, and her dog Cub over the weekend, Eden made the announcement, breaking fans' hearts everywhere.

"When I made the decision at final vows to be with Jayden, I really did that with longterm intentions. Jayden & I spent many months together after the experiment, during which Cub gained a dad and I gained a second family who I’m truly grateful for," Eden posted.

"I’m saddened to share that toward the end of the show airing, our relationship came to an unexpected end. The ‘reality’ is, the person I chose didn’t choose me. Whilst I’m disappointed, I will never regret the experiment, the people I met, the lessons I learnt and the growth this process has had on me. Thank you for supporting us and for also wishing for the same fairytale that I had hoped for."

It comes after Jayden was seen partying and looking flirtatious with another MAFS star, Lauren Dunn, on a night out, as well as rumours Jayden and Eden had split up and gotten back together several times since leaving the show.

Jayden took to Instagram not long after Eden and shared his own post confirming the split, writing, "Sometimes in life, things don’t always go the way you had hoped for. After the experiment, Eden and I went back to the Gold Coast and continued to enjoy living our lives together and getting to know each other every day.

"However, unfortunately, our relationship ended not long before the end of the experiment airing. As sad as it is, I’m so glad I got to go through this with such an amazing woman and a beautiful son 🐶 You will both always have a second family on the Gold Coast ❤️."

Fans heartbroken over Eden and Jayden's announcement

Fans were quick to share their thoughts on the split, and while comments are still turned off on the MAFS participants' Instagram accounts, Eden did share a video to TikTok about the split.

"He didn’t deserve you girl 💕," one fan wrote.

"Sorry to hear Eden but you will definitely find someone loving, supportive and mature 🫶🏼," another said.

"He wont find any better, he had the best right in front of him. 💅 His loss queen 👑," a third wrote.

"You deserve the absolute world plus more. You got this girl! Sending you lots of love & hugs 🩷," someone else added.

Many others said that Eden and Jayden were their "favourite couple" and they were very upset to see they hadn't been able to go the distance.

Insiders allege Jayden wasn't willing 'to work on anything'

The split also comes following reports Jayden wasn't willing "to work on anything".

"The whole thing is off," an inside source told Yahoo Lifestyle. "She was really into him but he has not been honest with her and that is why they are not together.

"It was Jayden’s call, he did it out the blue one day towards end of the show airing. There wasn’t any real reason and he wasn’t willing to work on anything he just didn’t want it."

The insider also alleged that Eden has become tired of hearing that Jayden is out hooking up with new people, and wanted to announce their breakup sooner.
