Melania 'distances' herself from Trump in Veterans Day photos

Twitter has erupted over a new photo of Melania and Donald Trump’s first official outing together since the president’s election loss.

The 74-year-old president and 50-year-old First Lady laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery for the observance of Veterans Day.

Twitter has since blown up at the Trumps for not wearing masks at the wreath laying, with others being very intrigued by Melania ‘keeping her distance’ from Donald.

In the photos, Melania Trump can be seen linking arms with a soldier, who is wearing a face mask and holding an umbrella over their heads.

Meanwhile, Trump walks in front of his wife and the soldier, with Melania glancing at her husband with an inquisitive look on her face.

“I can’t believe it, finally a real man walking Melania out and actually sharing an umbrella WITH HER,” one person wrote online.

“The way Melania is looking at him, like she expects him to implode any moment” another person wrote.

“I think the divorce papers are already to go!! Probably just needs his signature. I’m sure she’s been planning her escape for awhile,” a Twitter user wrote.

“Interesting was that Melania was clutching the arm of the office escorting her, almost distancing herself from Trump walking near nit not quite next to her,” another person wrote.

Others couldn’t look past the fact that neither Melania nor Donald wore masks while they were paying their respects.

“She caught COVID once already and is still out without a mask and not social-distancing. Be Better, Melania,” one person wrote.

“No Mask, Typical Trump arrogance,” another Twitter user wrote.

The snaps come just days after Omarosa Manigault Newman, Assistant to the President and Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison, claimed in her book Unhinged, that Melania is ‘counting the minutes’ until she can divorce Trump.

“Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce,” Omarosa reportedly said, according to the Mail on Sunday.

“If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he's in office, he would find a way to punish her.”

Appearing on the UK TV show Lorraine last month, Omarosa also described Donald and Melania’a relationship as ‘very strange’.

“What I have observed in the last 17 years would make your head spin. Sometimes they like each other but sometimes she is repulsed by him,” she said on the program.

Back in 2016, there were reports Melania ‘burst into tears’ when Trump was first voted into the oval office, with one friend saying at the time: “She never expected him to win”.

She also didn’t move into the White House for five months, because Barron Trump 'needed to finish school'.

Meanwhile, people on Twitter have commended Joe Biden and his wife Jill for wearing masks as they themselves honoured veterans at the Philadelphia Korean War Memorial at Penn’s Landing.

In fact, it seems like president-elect Joe Biden wore a black cotton mask over a surgical mask.

“Good job on wearing a mask to a ceremony with very elderly veterans. Trump didn’t even have the decency to do that,” one person commented.
