Family offers $85K for 'haunted' house nanny

It sounds like the plot of a horror movie, but one real life couple have revealed they’re looking for a live-in nanny who won’t have an issue taking care of their two kids… or living in their haunted house.

The couple, who live in remote, historic house in Scotland, posted the job ad outlining the duties of taking care of their two kids, aged five and seven.

From making breakfast to doing the school drop-off, it all seems pretty standard, until things take a turn for the sinister when the ad reveals numerous nannies have quit in the last year alone.

“We have lived in our home for nearly 10 years. We were told it was 'haunted' when we bought it, but kept our minds open and decided to buy the house regardless,” the ad reads.

“Five nannies have left the role in the last year, each citing supernatural incidents as the reason, including strange noises, broken glass and furniture moving.

“We haven't personally experienced any supernatural happenings, as they have been reported only while we've been out of the house, but we're happy to pay above the asking rate, and feel it's important to be as up-front as possible to find the right person.”

The salary on offer is double the going rate at $85,000 and it seems people aren’t worried about living alongside a ghost for the right price.

The Scottish Sun reports the family have been inundated with nearly 200 applications in the last 24 hours.

“They’re really pleased to have so many different candidates to choose from to fill the vacancy,” a source tells the publication.
