'Painful' Masked Singer performance resurfaces: 'Horrifying'

Caitlyn Jenner may be set to appear on Big Brother VIP later this year, but the 71-year-old appeared on another reality show earlier this year, performing on the American version of The Masked Singer.

Video of her unmasking has resurfaced and wow, it is... something!

The former Olympian appeared on the show in March and performed Kesha's 'Tik Tok' with viewers and judges sadly putting her in last place forcing her to be unmasked on her first night on the show.

Judge Jenny McCarthy was the only person to correctly guess it was Caitlyn under the Phoenix mask after hearing clues about famous children.

Ken Jeong, another judge, first guessed it was Caitlyn, but then changed his guess to RuPaul.

When Caitlyn took her mask off she poked fun at Ken, saying, "Ken, you've always been an idiot. What are we gonna do with you? I don't know."

When asked why she wanted to be on the show by host Niecy Nash, she responded, "You know what? I like challenges. I've raced cars. I fly airplanes. It kind of keeps you going. Something new, something different. So for me, it was fun. You can only work on the golf game for so long."

But it was the "painful" performance that had viewers comparing Caitlyn's singing to a "horror film".

The judges and audience were seemingly very into the performance, unlike those watching at home.

"What's more disturbing than the 'performance' is how everyone is pretending it's amazing," one YouTube commenter wrote.

"This is among the most painful things I’ve ever watched," another agreed.

"This could be in a legit horror film," a third said.

"I like how the judges have to act like they genuinely enjoyed that," someone else said.

"I love her lack of energy. Like yasssss queen give us NOTHING," another joked.

Kesha shared her thoughts on TikTok (how fitting!), writing, "Live for a cover and live for this outfit... but I mean I have to go..." as she retreated under the cover of her outfit.

Caitlyn might not be appearing on the Australian version of The Masked Singer, but she did fly in to take part in Big Brother VIP in July.

Her visit down under has sparked outrage among Aussies, with many questioning how a celebrity was able to enter the country while tens of thousands of citizens and permanent residents remain stranded overseas.

Twitter users deemed the news 'beyond infuriating' and 'extremely unfair'.

"My sister, husband (both fully vaccinated) and their baby have been trying for months to get a flight back. Shame they’re not celebrities where the rules clearly don’t apply," wrote one.

"Many people are flying in and out you just have to have money and know the right people. Extremely unfair," added another.

"Beyond infuriating. What happened to the big brouhaha about tightening up on "exceptions" for travel for people like this! Gone with the wind?" asked a third.
