Queen bans military uniforms for all royals at Philip’s funeral
The Queen has reportedly implemented one strict rule for Prince Philip's funeral that would appear to solve two dilemmas the Monarch was faced with while finalising plans for Saturday.
A military source has revealed Queen Elizabeth has ordered that no royals wear military uniform for the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral, instead suggesting all senior male royals wear suits and ties.
The move would save Prince Harry from potentially ending up as the only royal family member not in military attire, after he lost his military titles when he stepped back from his royal duties.
Royal rules dictated that Harry would only be allowed to wear a mourning suit with medals.

It also saves the Queen from having to respond to Prince Andrew's demand to wear an Admiral uniform on the day, despite deferring the title.
“It’s the most eloquent solution to the problem," the source told The Sun.
The move was confirmed by a second source who told the publication the “current thinking is no uniforms”.
Prince Andrew's request was reportedly 'linked to a palace uproar'. The Duke of York, who stepped back from public duties over his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein 18 months ago, sparked 'ongoing discussions' when he asked to dress in Admiral uniform.
Andrew became an honorary Vice-Admiral in the Royal Navy on his 55th birthday in 2015, and was due to be promoted to Admiral on his 60th birthday last year.
But he instead offered to defer the role, until he cleared his name and returned to public life.
It comes after it was revealed Prince Andrew already harboured hopes Philip's funeral could be his "comeback to public life".
He spoke publicly for the first time since stepping back from his duties to pay tribute to his father, calling him a “grandfather of the nation”.
Prince Andrew was forced to step down from public duties in November 2019 after being engulfed in the scandal involving Epstein.
