Sarah Hyland almost unrecognisable after major hair transformation

Plenty of US stars made their mark on the People’s Choice Awards red carpet on Wednesday, but there was one celebrity who looked barely recognisable with a brand new look.

Sarah Hyland, best known for her starring role on Modern Family, arrived at the A-list event rocking a freshly cut bob.

The 31-year-old debuted her new dark hairstyle with bangs while walking the red carpet with her fiancé Wells Adams, who she’s been engaged to since 2019.

Sarah has tried out a variety of hairstyles across her acting career but is perhaps best known for her long brunette locks on the popular sitcom.

She’s also dyed her hair blonde in the past, and in 2020 she decided to go red for her 30th birthday.

The night before the People’s Choice Awards Sarah took to Instagram to tease that she had done something dramatic to her hair.

“I did a thing today… You’ll all see tomorrow at the People’s Choice Awards,” she wrote alongside several shocked and haircut emojis.

Following the event, the SAG award-winning actress posted a selfie on social media with the caption: “Bob-idi-Bob-da-BANG-da-Bang Bang.”

Plenty of her followers rushed to the comments to applaud her new look, with a number of people calling it “perfect”.

“I literally gasped. Breathtaking, Sarah!” one person wrote, followed by another who added, “So stunning”.

“The perfect haircut exists. You look absolutely perfect,” someone else shared.

“I’m getting Elizabeth Taylor vibes,” a fourth commented, while a different user said she looked like Velma Kelly from Chicago.

In 2019, Sarah opened up to Allure about her hair journey and newfound curls after experiencing hair loss because of the medication she takes for kidney dysplasia.

“I've had a lot of my hair fall out from being on medications and all that stuff, and now that I'm finally getting all this new growth, it's even curlier,” she remarked.

She also revealed that she wore extensions when playing Haley Dunphy in the later seasons of Modern Family as her hair has been short since 2013.
