Shock screenshots prove MAFS couple met on app before filming

The new season of MAFS kicked off on Monday night with Bronte Schofield and Harrison Boon's wedding, which quickly fell apart when it was revealed the groom had a girlfriend outside of the experiment. Bronte was shocked when a guest told her after the wedding that Harrison was seeing a friend of hers on the outside, saying he'd even slept with her the day before.

Now, the Daily Mail has acquired screenshots (see them here) proving Bronte and Harrison had actually met on a dating app before they were married on the show.

The screenshots show that the pair met on Hinge four months before they filmed their wedding, however, Bronte appeared to have no interest in dating Harrison at the time. She even went so far as to joke with a friend that he couldn't "take a hint" as she didn't reply to any of his messages.

The screenshots show the pair matching on May 24 last year, with Harrison quickly starting the conversation with, "Hi." He then followed up by asking how her weekend was, but Bronte didn't respond.

This didn't deter Harrison, who later messaged another day, saying, "Hey! X." It's unclear if the conversation between the pair ever went anywhere after this.

"Bronte sent her sister a screenshot of Harrison's profile and messages alongside the words, 'I hate guys that can't take the hint,'" a source told the publication of the photos. "They were laughing because Harrison was just talking to himself."

According to an on-set source, Bronte brought up the fact they'd matched on the dating app to Harrison, who told her "not to feel special" because he'd matched with "hundreds" of other women on dating apps.

An on-set source has also revealed that Bronte found out about the girl Harrison was seeing outside the experiment before the wedding, and put on the performance of a lifetime to fool us all when she was told again after the wedding. Photo: Getty

Another source said that Bronte's friend Jessica Tomlinson, who dropped the bombshell that Harrison was dating The Bachelors' contestant Abby Miller (Jessica was also on the show), actually told the bride before the wedding. If this is true, it would mean Bronte successfully fooled viewers with her performance.

"You're lying. If that's true, that's my worst nightmare," Bronte, who was seemingly in shock, told Jessica when she showed her screenshots of messages between Harrison and Abby.

The publication also reports that Bronte has yet to accept Harrison's friend request on Facebook, which perhaps hints at the success of their relationship.

Abby is 'biding her time' until she can speak out

While Harrison insisted to his new bride that his relationship with Abby was never anything serious and he hadn’t made any promises to meet up with her after filming ended, sources tell Yahoo Lifestyle this isn’t entirely true.

An insider close to Abby tells us she is “biding her time” until she can speak out because she is still under contract with The Bachelors, but she has seen him since filming ended.

The 21-year-old also shared a selfie on Instagram on Monday night following the episode alongside a simple caption with a teacup emoji, seemingly referencing that she has plenty of ‘tea’ to spill.

This comes after Harrison told Fitzy & Wippa on Tuesday morning that he had “absolutely no idea” his romance with Abby would come out during filming.

“You saw the show, I was a bit of a deer in the headlights. I was like, ‘What's going on?’,” he shared. “And you’ve got to remember too that a lot of that that came out, not a lot of that's true.

“It’s true that I was single, it’s true that I was dating, but the idea of having a relationship during the show or after the show, that's not true. And I made it one hundred per cent clear to anyone that I was seeing before I went in there, ‘Look, this is what I'm doing, I'm giving this one hundred per cent, thanks and goodbye’ essentially.”

He went on to claim that Abby was not waiting for him on the outside because “she’s got her own life”.

“She knew exactly what I was doing, I was very upfront about it,” he continued. “We actually said our goodbyes, and that was a bit of time before I went into the experiment and got married.”

When asked if he was worried about what Abby would say about him when she inevitably speaks to the media, he replied: “Not really.”
