A Queensland-based TikToker is going viral after revealing her relationship with a man 35 years her senior.

Brightnye, 22, is a model who met her boyfriend James, 57, during a night out at the casino last year, telling her TikTok followers, "I bought nine sandwiches at the casino and he came up behind me."

"I did, and I thought anyone that can buy nine sandwiches is someone I needed to talk to," James added.

Speaking with the Courier Mail, Brightnye elaborated on the story, revealing it was her confidence that drew James in.

"I thought anyone who is buying nine sandwiches was either starving to death or needed to be spoken to," he joked.

"And yes, she did share a sandwich with me."

"From there, we just started hanging out, and all of a sudden we were dating," Brightnye added.

"It just happened really naturally."

James added that the age gap was a "big problem" for them at the beginning, and they both thought it was "crazy", however, they couldn't stay away from each other, with Brightnye adding that her friends thought their relationship was fake.

In response to a commenter on TikTok who said she had "daddy issues", Brightnye agreed, saying, "Maybe a little!"

In another video, James tells the camera, "Sure, the age gap is massive, there's no doubt about it, but as I always say, 'Love is love,' and there is a genuine connection with this creature."

"She loves your money," one user commented, while another added, "My partner is 16 years older than me so I understand age is just a number but I'm just not buying this one."

However, others defended the couple with one user writing, "You guys are a beautiful couple."

"I love watching your videos, such a lovely couple," another added.

In another video, Brightnye asks James if she can join OnlyFans, explaining that she would get paid for "posting bikini pics and lingerie".

"That'll be okay, baby, your body your choice," he says as she celebrates. "Yeah, good, earn some cash!"

Many users have commented saying Brightnye looks like James' daughter with the pair sharing how his actual daughters feel about the relationship in another video.

"Two of them are okay, one is sitting on the fence and the other one would like to murder you with a pitchfork, which isn't very nice, you don't deserve to be murdered with a pitchfork," he said.

"But yeah, people are entitled to their opinion, aren't they babe? We don't mind, we're in love and that's all that matters."

"Love is love," Brightnye agrees.

This week, she shared that the pair will be taking a three-month break from TikTok, saying there are "exciting things ahead".

One user shared their guess for the reason behind the break, saying the couple might be going on a TV show and aren't allowed on social media.

Another agreed, writing, "Definitely a TV show or something."

"Tell them we want the show aired in New Zealand too," a third wrote.

Brightnye has not responded to the comments.
