TV host calls out 'entitled' Prince Harry after shock comments

Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway has called out an "entitled" Prince Harry, after his latest explosive comments about his royal childhood.

The UK host was discussing Harry's latest interview on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, in which he said he felt Charles handed down a "cycle of genetic pain and suffering" to him, claiming his comments will have a "devastating impact" on his royal relatives.

"Do you think he almost doesn't understand that when he says these things, the devastating impact these comments will have?" Kate asked the panel during Friday morning's program.

"He is telling his story, but it instantly sounds entitled, and it sounds without empathy, doesn't he?"

During the podcast, Harry explained how he started to 'piece together' the 'cycle' - pointing out he felt the way he was treated when he was a child, was likely the same way his father was treated by his parents, the Queen and Prince Philip.

He also said that he wanted to leave royal life since his “early 20s” because of "what it did to my mum".

Harry was speaking on the podcast to promote his new documentary series with Oprah Winfrey, called The Me You Can't See, which is about mental health issues.

On it he reflected on his own struggles, describing his life as a royal as “a mixture between The Truman Show and being in a zoo”, and talked about how therapy burst the bubble for him about his own life.

But Kate noted that while Harry spoke of his "pain" growing up in the royal family, there are others who have suffered far worse "pains", such as growing up in abusive homes, or currently still dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

Her own husband, for example has been one of the longest-treated COVID-19 patients in the UK.

And other members of the royal family had recently showed support for her and her family.

"You are doing amazingly though. If it wasn't for social distancing, we would both give you a hug," Prince William said, according to the Mirror.

Kate's comments come after Today host Karl Stefanovic similarly blasted a "whining" Prince Harry, telling the former senior royal to "give it a rest".

The presenter didn't hold back on Friday saying: "It's a great thing that he got away from all that prying press in the UK. But I'm just saying it's ridiculous how he keeps whining about his childhood. He grew up in privilege, in a palace."
