Ready for a sweet, sweet taste of childhood nostalgia?

Looking for the perfect icy summer refresher? We’ve got great news for you...Slush Puppies are back!

Yes, your favourite old school frozen treat has made a resurgence down your local Woolies aisle!

Slush Puppies: the low-down

Slush Puppies were at the peak of their popularity in the late 70s and 80s and the perfect hot-day treat.

Back then, they came in old school slushy machines that you could fill a cup from. Most often, they would have been in your local milk bar or newsagent or your neighbourhood Blockbuster.

Now they’re back and better than ever.

Slush Puppies are now being sold in portable pouches that you can freeze and take with you on the go.

As Slush Puppie says, ‘Freeze, Squeeze, and Drink!’

They are available exclusively in Woolworths for $3 each, and come in Grape, Strawberry and Blue Raspberry flavours.

You can find them in the dessert aisle, right next to the jelly and other frozen crowd-pleasers like Zooper Doopers.

And the internet is losing its mind!

TikTok blows up at the return of icy treat.

TikTok user @tylahhill, whose account regularly shows nostalgic Australian TV shows, foods, and toys, posted about the recent Slush Puppie resurgence.

He’s racked up over 26 thousand plays, nearly 2 thousand likes, and over a hundred comments with people raving about them.

Some people pointed out that a few Slush Puppie machines were kicking around still - mainly in Queensland, in places like schools and corner stores.

Others were stoked to be finally able to get their hands on these again.

“My childhood”, TikTok user @yogibear20 commented.

“They taste amazing,” said used @kyreegriffenwalke

Perhaps the die-hard Slush Puppie fan is user @wobbs2610’s son, who “just go the Slush Puppie tattooed on his arm”. Wowza!

Tylah’s not the only TikTok account to be talking about Slush Puppies.

They’ve been blowing up with people showing their purchase of them and having live taste tests.

“Off to Woolworths, bye everyone,” @vampfang94 said.

User @ggeorgia.southern’s taste test has over 5 thousand likes, where she tests each flavour for breakfast after purchasing them the day earlier.

Her verdict: “Grape one’s my favourite, but this one (blue raspberry)’s a pretty close second."

“Yum”, “OMG”, “Want it!” are some of the comments on her video.

How to get your hands on a Slush Puppie

The Slush Puppie pouches are available exclusively at Woolworths.

Most likely due to the viral Tik Tok’s, some stores currently have limited stock.

User @crazycat6lad’s comment on Lisha’s clip was, “is it bad I just ordered 15 of these because of this video?” so you can see how they’re flying off the shelves.

They’re currently unavailable to buy online but could be in your local store, so run, don’t walk!
