ANOTHER monolith appears as mystery deepens
Yet another mysterious monolith has appeared, similar to the first one which appeared in the Utah desert and another in northern Romania.
The new tall silver structure has been spotted on a hiking trail in Atascadero, Southern California, at the top of roughly a 3.2km trail.
“What a beautiful addition to the top of Stadium Park!!!” Atascadero La Plaza remarked on Facebook.
When the obelisk appeared in southeastern Utah, it garnered international attention and speculation as to where it came from and who put it there.
Then, the structure in Utah officials said was made of riveted plates of stainless steel, disappeared less than two weeks after it was first spotted.

The Bureau of Land Management said in a tweet it was taken by “unknown party or parties”, though photographer Ross Bernards claims he was at the site when it was taken.
He said it took a number of the men to push the monolith over and it landed with a “loud bang”.

“They quickly broke it apart and as they were carrying it to the wheelbarrow that they had brought one of them looked back at us all and said ‘Leave no trace’,” Bernards wrote on Instagram.
Adding to the mystery, a similar object was seen in Romania, and just like the monolith in California and Utah, no one knows how it got to Batca Doamnei Hill.
A local official said that structure was placed without permission as well and has also now disappeared.
