'Beautiful' woman, 23, dies after allegedly being thrown from ute

Tributes have poured in for a Queensland woman who lost her life in a tragic ute accident over the Easter long weekend.

Grace Ruhle, 23, was in the tray of a friend's ute when she was allegedly thrown from the vehicle in a fatal accident on Friday night in the regional town of Toowoomba.

The alleged driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old man, has been accused of failing to remain at the scene of the tragedy, 7News reported.

The Cooroy man was subsequently charged with failing to provide breath sample for analysis and driving with a person in part of a vehicle designed for the carriage of goods, police said in a statement Saturday.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is ongoing and police urge anyone with information relating to this incident to come forward.

Friends have taken to social media to mourn the loss of the "one in a million" and "beautiful" woman.

"Gracie girl, your unique spark will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to know you," one friend wrote on Facebook, according to The Bulletin.

"You're cherished by countless and will be missed by so many … I love you Gracie," another friend said.

The driver of the ute has reportedly been charged and will face Dalby Magistrates Court on May 4.
