Bondi 'room' for rent savaged online: 'Is this a joke?'
Sydney's rental crisis shows no signs of abating anytime soon.
A room for rent in Bondi has been quickly ridiculed just moments after it was shared in search of a potential suitor.
Taking to a popular Facebook group for Irish nationals based in Sydney, a group member who appeared to be the room's current occupant described the $260 a week room as "small but cosy".
The individual was looking for a short term tenant to fill the room for two weeks next month. While it was only a temporary stay, the person was seeking a $520 bond on top.
Photos of the room show a single bed squeezed into the space, while a wardrobe and fan barely fit at the other end.
Unsurprisingly, the advert was mocked just moments after it was uploaded on Sunday afternoon, with many in disbelief over the proportions of the room which appears to be a converted sunroom.
"Harry Potter renting out his room underneath his stairs," one person said.
"You spelt balcony wrong," another wrote. "Bit of a stretch calling that a room?" one asked.
Others compared it to a coffin, a kennel and a prison cell.
"At least a stranger can kiss you goodnight from the street," one person joked. "Is this a joke?" another asked.

It's just the latest in a long line of questionable rentals listed online as the rental crisis in Sydney hits hard.
Last week a Paddington studio heavily criticised online over its condition was listed at $345 a week, $65 more than it was nine months earlier.
Leo Patterson Ross, the CEO of The Tenants’ Union of NSW, told Yahoo News Australia earlier this month many struggling Sydney renters have no choice but to take sub-standard conditions "just to keep a roof over their heads".
Demand for short-term lets has dramatically increased with the return of temporary visa holders to Australia.
