Dad's chilling Facebook posts emerge after murder-suicide

Devastating social media posts have emerged from the dad suspected of killing himself and his infant daughter in a horrific murder-suicide.

Henry Shepherdson, 38, and his nine-month-old daughter Kobi Shepherdson died at the Whispering Wall at the Barossa reservoir at about 4.30pm on Wednesday, South Australia Police said on Thursday.

Kobi was strapped to her dad's body when they were found dead, according to police.

A post has since emerged from Mr Shepherdson's Facebook from five months ago, in which he paid a loving tribute to his daughter.

"My little girl," he wrote, alongside an emoji with love-heart eyes, followed by "My heart is so full," and three red love hearts.

He then wrote his daughter's full name, Kobi Anastasia Isobel Shepherdson, and added an emoji of a baby with angel wings and a halo around its head.

A video just under four minutes in length accompanied the words, showing Kobi appearing happy while in a baby chair positioned on top of a table.

"Yeah I know, I was thinking the same thing myself," he was heard saying to his daughter, before making a series of baby noises and telling her: "I love you Kobi bear" several times.

Kobi stared in the direction of the camera throughout the video, appearing enamoured by her dad.

A post a month earlier featured a photo of his daughter, which he wrote was her aged 15 weeks.

He included the hashtags "#RestInPeaceKobeBryant" and "#MambaForever" in the post.

About a week before that, he shared a photo of several black balloons with "XO" on them and a poem which read in part, "I got my heart right here, I got my scars right here".

On September 26, he shared another photo of Kobi in her baby chair once again, aged 10 weeks.

In July, he made a post featuring a photo of his daughter again, posing a light-hearted question to his friends.

"Question: Is it bad if I list my occupation as 'Jedi Knight' on my daughters birth certificate? I mean that's what I put on my census forms. Gotta be consistent yeah?" he wrote.

In September 2019, he shared a photo acknowledging National Child Protection Week.

SAPOL assistant commissioner Ian Parrott said investigations show a history of domestic violence between Mr Shepherdson and Kobi's mother.

"This is a highly distressing and emotional set of circumstances," assistant commissioner Parrott told reporters.
