Disturbing act with baby caught on camera: 'SELFISH'

Police are investigating a video of a man performing a wheelie on a motorbike with an infant on his lap.

The video was posted to Instagram on Friday, sparking concerns over the safety of the child.

The short video shows a man riding a two-wheeler motorbike on a footpath in Mount Druitt, with a baby sitting in front of him, according to the person filming.

"This [is the] wheelie with the baby on it," the man taking the video says to the camera, before turning it around.

"Oh with the baby," he laughs as the man and child ride past.

A spokesperson from NSW Police told Yahoo News Australia that they were looking into the footage.

"Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command are investigating the footage involving a child on a motorbike," they said.

"Inquiries are continuing."

Users shocked by 'selfish' act

The relation of the man to the child is unknown.

Although some Instagram users found the footage amusing, most were shocked dangerous stunt.

"[I don't know] about this one, seems a tad like child abuse," one Instagram user wrote.

"Yeah there’s no applauding that," agreed another.

"Endangering babies ain't very amusing or am I wrong," another user questioned.

"Endangering a baby's life is completely selfish- all for ‘likes’," another wrote. "Very superficial and a sad reflection of society."

Others argued there was nothing wrong with the video saying they were having "fun."

"It’s a bit of fun man why everyone gotta jump down the blokes neck," one user said.

"The kids probably having the time of his life."
