Donald Trump Jr tests positive for coronavirus
Donald Trump Jr has tested positive for Covid-19 and described his experience as “weird”.
The US president’s oldest son returned a positive test earlier this week.
On Instagram, Trump Jr confirmed the diagnosis adding he couldn’t tell he had it.
“I guess I’ve been totally asymptomatic but out of an abundance of precaution I’ll quarantine, I’ll follow the regular protocols – you know, take it seriously,” he said.
“No reason to do anything otherwise.”
He said he found out because he had to get tested before a father-son trip with his son and found showing no symptoms “weird”.
Trump Jr cancelled the trip.
“So it’s a little bit odd. Maybe it’s a false positive,” he said.
“Maybe not.”
Trump Jr added he hopes to take more tests to confirm it before Thanksgiving on Thursday.
He said he wanted to let people know he’s OK. He also asked for Netflix recommendations.
“There’s only so many guns I can clean before that gets bored,” he said.
US President Donald Trump tested positive for Covid-19 last month along with a number of Vice-President Mike Pence’s aides.
However, Pence and his wife returned negative tests.
Barron, Trump’s 14-year-old son, also tested positive along with his mum – First Lady Melania Trump.
Other members of the White House have also returned positive tests in recent weeks including press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, senior adviser Stephen Miller and Trump assistant Nicholas Luna.
Andrew Giuliani, the son of the president's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, also said he tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.
The US currently has more than 11.8 million cases of coronavirus, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
