Fast food manager chokes pregnant worker 'for taking too many breaks'

A fast food manager has been caught on CCTV choking a pregnant employee after growing increasingly frustrated at the frequent breaks she was taking.

Taco Bell supervisor Linda Joyce Wilkerson can be seen screaming at the victim, who was four months’ pregnant, slamming the door on her twice and then grabbing her neck with both hands.

Investigators said the case began on June 3, 2018, when the 48-year-old attacked her employee inside the Portland store in Oregon, wrapping her hands around the woman’s throat.

She has been sentenced to anger management and community service after she pleaded guilty last Friday to charges of fourth-degree assault and strangulation, Fox 12 reported.Sign up here for Yahoo Entertainment & Lifestyle’s newsletter.

“To me it is a big deal,” the victim said in court on Friday (local time).

“I was pregnant with my now-healthy son. That was my job. I was supposed to feel safe there. I wasn’t sure if she was going to let go of my throat… I do believe she deserves this sentence.”

Wilkerson was ultimately sentenced to three years of formal probation and 100 hours of community service.

She has also been ordered to take anger management classes and will pay the victim $290 in restitution. She is to have no contact with the victim.
