Haunted house that inspired 'The Conjuring' on sale for $1.65 million
I ain't afraid of no ghost.
A picturesque three-bedroom home on 8.5 acres of land is up for sale but it might not be the best place to put your feet up if you’re scared of what goes bump in the night.
Why? Well, it’s because it inspired The Conjuring movie series. Yikes.
Anyway, the listing on realtor Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty claims the home, in Rhode Island, is “an extraordinary piece of cultural history”.
It is also purportedly haunted.

The movie wasn’t filmed at the home, but was based on the experiences of the Perron family that lived there in the 1970s.
“Rumoured to be haunted by the presence of Bathsheba Sherman, who in the 1800’s lived in the house, 1677 Round Top Road is one of the most well-known haunted houses in the United States,” the listing reads.
“The chilling stories from this house have inspired dozens of books and movies. Many qualified paranormal researchers have been invited into the home - most famously Ed and Lorraine Warren, who founded the oldest ghost hunting team in New England, and in the 1970’s were hired to rid the home of its evil.”
Hopefully Ed and Lorraine did.
The current owners claim to “have reported countless happenings in the house” and have managed to use it as a holiday accommodation for guests.
It’s currently listed for A$1.65 million and features a brick fireplace, two bathrooms and space to park four cars.
