KFC customer's disgusting find in chicken order: 'Simply outrageous'

A woman is demanding answers from a KFC store after she discovered deep-fried toilet paper in her order of chicken.

Disturbing video shows the woman holding the oil-soaked toilet paper, covered in the fast food giant's famous batter.

The alarming ordeal happened on Monday at a store in Anji, in northeast China, roughly 200km from Shanghai.

The incident has quickly gone viral on Chinese social media site Weibo, with users disturbed over how the toilet paper ended up in her order.

"This is simply outrageous!" one person wrote online.

"Was the toilet paper used?!" another asked, while a separate user branded the discovery "disgusting".

Some people suggested the tissues had been intentionally covered in batter before being placed in the fryer.

The woman says she attempted to eat them without realising what they were, Feidian Video reported.

Consumer body confirms KFC discovery

She made an official complaint to the State Administration for Industry and Commerce who confirmed the toilet paper was found inside her meal.

Further investigations into the matter have commenced, while the store's management is negotiating with the woman over compensation.

KFC is wildly popular in China and far outperforms McDonald's, and enjoys the largest share of the fast food market of any Western brand.

In December, a KFC customer in Brazil claimed she found a cockroach inside a meal.
