Man saves dog being ‘drowned’ by kangaroo

Uploaded by the Mildura Martial Arts school in Victoria, the video had been viewed more than 2.5 millions times on Tik Tok in just 10 hours.

Unfortunately, the man professed his skills at Brazilian Ju Jitu were “ineffective” after he waded in to save his dog from the “7ft kangaroo”.

In the video, captioned “martial arts are for everyone, even kangaroos”, the dog is seen being held just above the water by the kangaroo.

Rushing in to save the visually distressed pet, the man is heard cursing at the kangaroo, saying: “I’m going to punch you f*****g head in. Let my dog go”.

Only moments later, the kangaroo is caught on video lunging at the man, with its arm and claws visible, before the video cuts to black and hits the water,

The muffled sound of a struggle is heard before the video reappears to show the kangaroo standing tall in the river facing the man, with the dog now free.

The man is seen splashing water at the kangaroo before returning to shore while laughing to himself and cursing the animal, which is unmoved.

Others users from overseas were baffled by the run-in with what is widely seen as an icon of Australian culture and fauna.

“So do kangaroo eat dogs or why is he trying to choke it,” Letty Angeles asked.

Stephanie added: “I thought the kangaroo drowned bro in front of his dog”.
