Mum's outrageous number plate creates controversy
A mum’s cheeky number plates have courted controversy in the US.
The state of New Hampshire wants mum Wendy Auger to hand in the plates she’s owned for 15 years, news site Sea Coast Online reports.
Ms Auger’s number plate reads, “PB4WEGO” or “pee before we go”.
However, the Division of Motor Vehicles has issued a recall for her plates.
While it won’t comment specifically on the mum’s case, a spokesperson told the news site there is a process in place “to recall a plate should one be issued that should not have been”.
Ms Auger thinks the recall is ridiculous.
“Who has a mum or dad or parental figure who hasn’t said that to kids before leaving the house?” Ms Auger said.
“I’m not the type to sit here with a picket, but come on.”
Ms Auger claims she’s never received a complaint about the number plates either.
She told NBC 10 Boston people actually love it.
"I get honks, thumbs up," Ms Auger told NBC 10.
"I get people taking pictures of my license plate all the time."
However, on Wednesday the Governor Chris Sununu told the DMV to overturn its decision to recall the plates.
He’s also informed Ms Auger of his decision on the issue.
The mum said she’s “stoked” she will be able to keep her plates.
