Sydney Covid victim, 27, dead just weeks after wedding
New details have emerged about the man aged in his 20s, who died on Tuesday after contracting Covid-19.
On Wednesday, NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant confirmed two people had died after being confirmed to have Covid-19 — the man in his 20s and a woman in her 80s.
The Daily Telegraph has identified the man as 27-year-old Aude Alaskar.
A relative reportedly said he caught the virus off his wife who is an aged care worker.
Dr Chant told reporters Mr Alaskar was on day 13 of his 14-day quarantine when he died and throughout his infectious period he was checked on by South Western Sydney Local Health District.
"He was being checked daily and he did complain of feeling a little fatigued. but the deterioration happened suddenly is my understanding," she said.
"I think that is important to understand that your health status can deteriorate and you can have sudden death with Covid infection."
Bash Mnati, Mr Alaskar's cousin told the Daily Telegraph he was having a shower and fell down and "his heart stopped out of nowhere and he was vomiting on the floor".

After Mr Alaskar's wife found him, she called Triple-0 and relatives rushed to their Liverpool unit to help.
Mr Mnati told the ABC Mr Alaskar married his wife just three months ago and his wedding party was planned for two months time.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Mr Alaskar's wife is currently under observation at hospital being treated for shock.
Dr Chant confirmed on Wednesday morning Mr Alaskar's death would be referred to the coroner.
Relatives insist he had tested negative for Covid the day before he died and his family had a history of heart problems, the Daily Telegraph reported.
However, relatives told the ABC Mr Alaskar had no underlying health conditions and was active and didn't drink alcohol or smoke.
He was not vaccinated against Covid-19.
Mr Mnati described his cousin as a "great person", who everyone loved.
“He was an amazing person, such a sweetheart,” Mr Mnati told the Daily Telegraph.
The woman who died of Covid has not been identified, though it was confirmed she tested positive for Covid last Tuesday and died at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
She was also not vaccinated.
NSW recorded 233 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the total of locally-acquired cases since the start of the outbreak to 4,063.
