Tragic twist after Sydney women killed in shooting

Family and friends are mourning the death of Sydney woman Amy Hazouri who police believe was collateral damage in a targeted shooting in the city's south-west on Saturday night.

The 38-year-old hairdresser is being remembered as a "beautiful" woman, with family revealing Ms Hazouri was the sole provider for her family in Lebanon.

Ms Hazouri was shot and killed alongside 48-year-old Lametta Fadlallah who was the intended target, police believe.

The pair were sitting in a car outside a Panania home when it was sprayed by bullets, killing them both.

The family is now raising funds to help cover the cost of sending Ms Hazouri's body to her home country for a funeral.

"Our mother is not well and cannot travel to Australia to see her daughter," her sister Manal Raunegger wrote on a GoFundMe page set up for the family.

"Amy was the sole provider for our family in Lebanon that is currently struggling with the economic crisis in Lebanon."

Sharing a tribute on Facebook, her sister said she "can't believe it".

"You left us too soon my darling. May Allah have mercy on you," she wrote.

Meanwhile, a colleague told Ten News she was a "ray of sunshine" admitting she is "shocked and shattered" by the news of Ms Hazouri's passing.

The hairdresser reportedly worked six days a week to help support her family overseas. She worked in a salon in Bankstown.

It's understood the hairdresser had just finished a job doing Ms Fadlallah's hair, who was a client and friend.

Family told Daily Mail Australia she'd been planning a trip to Lebanon to see her sick mum, but she never made it.

"We are asking family, friends and the community to donate what they can and share this page around as we require urgent funds during this time as we cannot afford this service. Every dollar and support ss appreciated," her sister said.
