Trump slammed over 'disgusting' Father's Day message

Former president Donald Trump has set social media alight, despite still being banned, after he released a not-so touching Father's Day message.

Trump is still banned from Twitter and Facebook, however a statement from the former president through his political action committee has been circulated on social media for America's Father's Day on Sunday (local time).

"Happy Father’s Day to all, including the Radical Left, RINOs [Republicans in name only], and other Losers of the world," the statement says.

"Hopefully, eventually, everyone will come together!"

"Said with all the restraint and emotional maturity of an over-tired toddler having a meltdown because they weren't allowed to eat candy before dinner," someone said on Twitter.

Suffice to say the statement did not go over well and people were quick to point out the irony of the statement, which has been described as "malevolent".

"'Coming together' doesn’t happen with such hateful messages, Donald," someone said on Twitter.

"Just a thought... maybe calling people 'Losers' while wishing them a Happy Father's Day isn't the best way to bring everyone together? This seems pretty immature," another person said.

Another person said the statement was "disgusting".

"Can't even wish people a happy Father's Day without insulting people. Please find better role models than this classless tool, people," they said.

After losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden, Trump refused to believe he lost the election and tried to get multiple courts to overturn the result.

After losing he continued to say the election was corrupt, however no corruption was found.

His baseless claims of widespread voter fraud were dismissed by judges and state election officials and his own administration's Homeland Security Department.

He was then impeached for a second time for inciting an insurrection, though he was later acquitted by the senate.

"Such an outstanding, well-written statement made by DJ Trump. He represents who Americans are and exactly what they deserve," someone said, before clarifying they were joking.

Others were comparing Trump's Father’s Day message with his successor, Joe Biden's message.

"Happy Father's Day to the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, and father figures who enrich our character, love us unconditionally, and give so much of themselves every day so we can live lives worthy of their dreams and sacrifices," the US President tweeted.

In wasn't all negative feedback for Trump. Along with the criticism, his loyal following were also vocal online, with one fan tweeting: "I miss him so much."
