Sad twist for kids rescued from 'house of horrors'

Two of the 13 siblings rescued from the Turpin family 'house of horrors' four years ago have allegedly been molested by their foster parent.

Marcelino Olguin who cared for five of the Turpin children, is facing several charges including seven counts of committing a lewd and lascivious act on a child, the Daily Mail reports.

The 63-year-old foster father allegedly sexually touched one of the girls when she was 14 on her buttocks and thighs more than 50 times, according to charging documents seen by the publication.

Olguin allegedly told the children they were "sexy", instructed them not to wear undershirts and kissed and pulled one of the children on top of him, investigator Thomas Salisbury said in an affidavit.

The 2018 discovery of the Turpin siblings in horrifying conditions shocked not only the US but the rest of the world.

The children were found malnourished, some with bruises on their bodies, and the use of chains was evident in the home caked in dirt, authorities said.

They were eventually discovered after one of the starved children, who were aged between 2 and 29, managed to escape their California home.

Their parents David and Louise Turpin were sentenced to life in prison in 2019 for the abuse of their children.

Olguin began caring for five of the children just four months after their parent's arrest and lived in the same town as the Turpins had.

They cared for nine children in total. They were forced to take part in a "confession circle talk" where they were made to detail abuse they had inflicted on their siblings under instruction from their parents, the affidavit revealed.

Some of the children were reportedly made to fight and endured expletive-laden verbal attacks.

Olguin's wife, Rosa, and his daughter Lennys, are also facing charges including witness intimidation and fraud.

The trio were first arraigned in December, CBS News reported.

Jordan Turpin, now 21, who was the sibling to break out of the home, spoke out publicly for the first time alongside older sister Jennifer, in November.

She explained her decision to finally escape her living "hell".

“I think it was us coming close to death so many times. It was literally a now or never. If something happened to me, at least I died trying," she told the ABC.
