The student who tested positive reportedly attended the school on Thursday, May 21.

Just hours earlier, students at nearby private school Waverley College were sent home after a boy was diagnosed with the virus.

Waverley College and Moriah are about 1.5km away from each other.

Waverley was evacuated within 90 minutes of the positive result, which prompted a deep clean of the campus.

Close contacts of the student are being notified.
