Two Sydney schools closed after coronavirus infections
Two Sydney schools in the city’s east have been evacuated after students were diagnosed with coronavirus.
Moriah War Memorial College at Queens Park in Sydney was closed after a student returned a positive coronavirus result.
Parents were told to pick up their children from the school this morning, the ABC reported.
The student who tested positive reportedly attended the school on Thursday, May 21.
Just hours earlier, students at nearby private school Waverley College were sent home after a boy was diagnosed with the virus.
Waverley College and Moriah are about 1.5km away from each other.
Waverley was evacuated within 90 minutes of the positive result, which prompted a deep clean of the campus.
Close contacts of the student are being notified.
