Around one-third of the Russian Black Sea Fleet warships have been destroyed or damaged by Kyiv since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian military’s Centre for Strategic Communications (StratCom), reported on Telegram on Feb. 6.

“Aggression against Ukraine is damaging to your navy,” StratCom wrote.

24 out of 74 Russian Black Sea Fleet warships, which the enemy possessed before the invasion, have been destroyed or damaged by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Earlier, NV estimated that in less than two years of full-scale invasion, Ukraine, with the limited capabilities of its own fleet, has destroyed at least 12 and damaged at least 16 Russian vessels in the Black and Azov Seas.

The most recent example of successful strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces was the elimination of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Tarantul-class corvette Ivanovets on Feb. 1.

The boat was hit six times by the Ukrainian naval drone MAGURA V5, said the Main Intelligence Directorate’s (HUR) chief, Kyrylo Budanov.

During naval wargames in July 2023, Russia fired a Moskit missile from Ivanovets, sinking the Ukrainian corvette Ternopil. Ternopil was captured by Moscow in 2014 during the occupation of Crimea.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded HUR servicemen who took part in the warship’s destruction.
