Urgent search for man missing from remote outback resort

UPDATE: The man has been found safe and well and will be taken to the Alice Springs Hospital for treatment of mild dehydration.

Northern Territory Police are in a race against time to locate a man who has been missing in the heart of Australia’s outback for 72 hours.

Timothy Rodwell, 41, was last seen on Sunday at the Kings Canyon Resort, which is located between Uluru and Alice Springs.

Police allege Mr Rodwell was involved in an altercation with another person at the resort before walking off into the bush at around 7.15pm.

It’s not known if he has access to water or food.

Mr Rodwell is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a solid build and long, dark scruffy hair. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt and dirty jeans.

On Wednesday afternoon, police conducted a land and air search of the area.

Anyone who has seen Mr Rodwell or has any information about his disappearance is urged to contact police on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
