Woman's x-rated move to counter Putin's war machine
A Ukrainian resident has come up with a unique way to raise money for Ukraine’s war effort.
Since March, Nastsassia Nasko and her group of 38 content creators have made more than $1 million to support the country’s troops by selling nude photographs of themselves.
“I feel happy because I can support people in Ukraine,” the 23-year-old told Business Insider.
“We’re not sex workers, we are trying to raise money for the war.”
Despite her successful campaign, Ms Nasko, who’s from Belarus but lived in Kyiv before the war, says she came up with the idea by accident.
Just days after Russia invaded Ukraine in February, the young woman asked Twitter if someone with a car would help get her friend out of Kharkiv.
When no one responded, Ms Nasko half-joked that she would send a naked photo of herself to whoever could help.
Within minutes, she had received more than 10 messages, according to Business Insider.
Days after she sent the promised photo to a man who rescued her acquaintance, Ms Nakso and her friend launched ‘TerOnlyFans’, named after Ukraine's Territorial Defence.
Nude pictures fund Ukrainian war effort
While it has no connection to OnlyFans, a subscription based service for adult content creators, it has a similar model, except funds raised go directly to where they are needed, instead of back to the creators.
Most donations are sent to the army, while some money has also been given to refugee or animal shelter organisations.
Since the website’s launch, 35 women and three men, most of whom are based in Ukraine, have signed up to send pictures to donors.
And while most of the donors are from Ukraine, the group has also received money from people in the Netherlands, France and the UK.
The highest donation made to the group was a cryptocurrency payment of almost $4,000.
Ms Nasko, who fled Kyiv when Russia invaded, now lives in Warsaw, Poland where she runs the business alongside her full-time job as a marketing manager.
She has no plans to slow down.
“We will end this project when Putin dies and Russia stops their aggression,” she said.
