AFL fight investigated after man takes shocking tumble

Footage has emerged of a Port Adelaide fan taking a fall in the grandstand after an altercation during the AFL.

The man wearing a Port scarf was captured on camera pointing to his chin, which appeared to be goading another supporter to hit him.

After a few moments the other fan takes a swing and hits the man numerous times.

The other man eventually fights back before losing his balance, which sent him tumbling back and landing on a chair.

Concerned onlookers filmed the altercation, which was obtained by 7 News.

Police are investigating the incident, according to 7 News.

While the club has claimed they have the right to revoke memberships or game tickets if any offence is committed by supporters.

“The Port Adelaide Football Club is aware of vision from Saturday night’s game between Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval where a Power supporter is seen to be struck several times by another spectator,” the club said in a statement.

“The club is waiting on a report from the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority and will make no further comment until it has more information."

“Port Adelaide has a spectator code of conduct reinforcing the club’s commitment to creating a safe, enjoyable and exciting game-day experience for all members and supporters.

“As part of the spectator code of conduct the club will not tolerate vilification or unruly behaviour of any form and reserves the right to revoke memberships or casual game day tickets should any offence be committed and should a situation warranting a ban arise.

“Port Adelaide urges anyone with more information relating to Saturday night’s incident to contact the club.”

Police have urged any witnesses to come forward.

Bulldogs defeat Port Adelaide

The Bulldogs overcame the loss of influential backman Easton Wood to another hamstring strain to defeat fellow premiership contender Port on Saturday night.

And Beveridge has hailed the 15.6 (96) to 12.5 (77) triumph at Adelaide Oval as full of significance for his team.

"It will do wonders for the belief of the group," he said.

"The importance of these outings and these experiences can't be undersold.

"You find encouragement in the fact, and the players do, in believing in what we're trying to do together.

"And against a team like Port on their home deck, where they have been significantly strong and don't drop many (games), we can definitely bank that and feel good about it.

"And, hopefully, it's an experience that as we continue on will help us."
