After all, his last three fights haven’t gone past the third round.

But in an incredible finish, Dubois was forced to ‘take a knee’ and couldn’t continue after a vicious jab from Joyce closed the right eye of the big British heavyweight.

The heavyweight’s (15-1, 14KOs) decision to take a knee, prompted former champs David Haye and Carl Frampton to criticise how the fight ended.

"I was very unhappy with the way he took a knee...I never like seeing a fighter take a knee” Haye said on BT Sport after the fight.

"I think he quit there! I have to be brutally honest...Dubois can still come back,” Frampton added.

Fans criticise Dubois after stoppage

Many on social media were also critical of Dubois, while also praising Joyce for the great game plan.

The fight was a close contest with fans unable to agree on who was winning heading into the 10th round.

But it was the brutal jab, a game plan of Joyce, that caught Dubois.

His eye immediately started to puff up and that was all he could take as he took and knee and didn’t answer the referee’s count.
