Aussie cricketer Chris Lynn has kick-started his T20 season with a bang after scoring 83 off 46 balls for the Steelbacks with a local home's backyard footage capturing one of his sixes that left the stadium.

In his first home game for the Steelbacks in the competition, the Australian took an instant liking to Wantage Road as he cracked 83 from just 46 balls.

It proved more than enough as a shell-shocked Durham were bowled out for 192 after 18.5 overs.

And in an incredible moment, CCTV footage from a nearby home picked up one of Lynn's sixes flying into their backyard.

A picture was shared of a young lady holding the white ball with the cricket game going on from across Wantage Road in the background.

The Birmingham Bears survived a late Derbyshire surge to win an exciting game at Derby by three runs.

It was a match to forget for Derby's newly signed Australian allrounder Hayden Kerr, who went for 55 in his four overs and made just eight with the bat after being run out.

Brisbane Heat part ways with Chris Lynn

Earlier in May, cricket fans reacted with shock and surprise after the Brisbane Heat sensationally axed club great Chris Lynn.

Lynn is on the hunt for a new BBL club after the Heat decided not to renew the 32-year-old's contract for the 2022/23 season.

Lynn has played 11 years and over 100 games for the Heat and is the BBL's all-time leading run-scorer.

He has played 18 T20 internationals for Australia, as well as four one-day internationals.

In other matches, Surrey defeated Glamorgan by four wickets with a ball to spare while Nottinghamshire beat Worcestershire by four wickets at Trent Bridge.

Gloucestershire beat Sussex by 41 runs while Middlesex registered a 10-run win over Hampshire.

Essex claimed a four-wicket victory over Kent with two balls to spare in their derby at Canterbury, with the visitors reaching 6-188 in reply to Kent's 4-184.
