Fantasy basketball: Waiver wire options for Week 3 of the NBA

Lonnie Walker and Josh Giddey could be handy additions to your fantasy team.

After a couple of weeks, rotations are starting to settle a little bit, but we still have injuries cropping up and players returning, making the waiver wire very active.

Here are some options to add for Yahoo Points Leagues.

Scottie Barnes

Somehow not rostered in 80% of leagues.

Just make sure your league isn’t one of the slow ones.

Josh Giddey

Like Barnes, he is available in over 20% of leagues. Remedy that.

Cole Anthony

It may get crowded when Markelle Fultz is back, but Anthony is on a roll and it would be wise to make sure he is off the wire for the short-term, at least.

Reggie Jackson

I’m not going to sit here and tell you Jackson is playing well, but he is a top 100 player while shooting like garbage.

He shouldn’t be on any points league wire.

Dennis Schröder

Schröder’s recent minutes have risen with Jaylen Brown, Robert Williams, Al Horford, and Marcus Smart missing time.

But there is a chance Schröder can keep up the big playing time when they are fully healthy.

De’Anthony Melton

I don’t know what it takes for people to buy into fantasy 70th ranked player.

Just add him and figure it out when Dillon Brooks is back.

Desmond Bane

Like Melton, it is staggering to not see Bane rostered in more than 70% of leagues despite his ranking of 77 on the year.

Brooks will hurt, but Bane must be on a roster.

TJ McConnell

With Malcolm Brogdon out, McConnell is starting at point guard.

McConnell hasn’t been good, but for the short-term, he is a 12 team option.

When Brogdon is back, I can’t see TJ retaining value.

Lonnie Walker

Walker started with Doug McDermott out the last two games with mixed results, but he is worth tasking a flier on to see if he can string together a few hot scoring nights as a temporary starter.

Luke Kennard

Kennard’s minutes have been increasing and with Eric Bledsoe struggling and Marcus Morris ailing, Kennard has a shot to establish himself as a solid option.

He is far from a must-add player, but he could be a flier in case things break right.
