Nick Kyrgios has left the tennis world in stitches after offering to coach Hollywood actor Ben Stiller in a role swap as he sits out the French Open. Kyrgios has not played a match of tennis in 2023 having undergone knee surgery for an injury sustained at the end of last year.

Unfortunately, Kyrgios withdrew from the Australian Open and while he initially signalled his intention to play at Roland Garros, the 28-year-old could not return to the court in time. However, the Australian has been watching the reactions to the Roland Garros crowd having recently told people that booing was part of the sport.

And on Wednesday, the Wimbledon finalist entered into a hilarious exchange with Stiller. Kyrgios joked he was looking to coach and if there were any willing players.

To Kyrgios' shock, Stiller replied and said he was a willing participant. "I'm open to it, but would need to know you're serious," he wrote.

"Let's do it, I am all in. What you thinking?" Kyrgios said. Stiller then joked he was trying to figure out who was coaching who and at what.

Kyrgios replied with an interesting idea. "I'll coach you to get you in a professional tournament. Then you coach me to get me in a movie." Fans were left chuckling at the thought of Kyrgios and Stiller swapping roles for a change.

Kyrgios was having fun and added another tweet to claim he would suit coaching considering he has actually defeated most players on tour. "Look I know the game better than most," he wrote. "Way more knowledgeable and up to date than most of the coaches now, beaten everyone."

Nick Kyrgios and Ben Stiller at Indian Wells

This isn't the first time Kyrgios and Stiller have been come across each other. In Kyrgios' loss to Rafa Nadal last year at Indian Wells, the Aussie dragged Stiller into an interaction with a fan.

Kyrgios was becoming increasingly frustrated with the crowd and called for the chair umpire to take charge. And one spectator in the front row, sitting right near Stiller, really frustrated the Aussie.

And in the third set, Kyrgios turned to the spectator who may have been offering him advice on the court. "Are you good at tennis?" Kyrgios asked in frustration.

Kyrgios then pointed at the movie star and said: "Exactly, so don't tell me how to play. Do I tell him how to act?" The response sent the tennis world into meltdown with many members of the crowd laughing along at the bizarre interaction.

After the event, Stiller responded to a tweet of Kyrgios interacting with a fan. The pair chatted and Stiller eventually suggested the pair could make a good doubles pairing.

Kyrgios has always opted to train himself, despite tennis great John McEnroe one of the many former player to offer their services to the supremely talented Aussie. Novak Djokovic cheekily mentioned if he coached Kyrgios he would win multiple grand slams, such is his talent.
