Girl, 5, fighting for life after crash involving Super Bowl coach
Britt Reid, the Kansas City Chiefs linebackers coach and son of head coach Andy Reid, will not be at Super Bowl LV after he was involved in a serious car accident.
The Chiefs assistant coach was involved in a multi-vehicle pile-up in Missouri on Thursday that resulted in injuries to two young children.

The Kansas City Police Department (KCDP) issued a statement on Saturday saying one child injured in the accident was in critical condition, and they were conducting an investigation that could take weeks.
The five-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries after the pickup truck Reid was driving slammed into two vehicles parked at the side of Interstate 435 near the Chiefs’ practice facility.
A four-year-old was also injured in the collision and suffered non life-threatening injuries.
A GoFundMe page has since been set up on behalf of the severely injured child by a relative.
According to the page, the crash victim “suffered swelling in the brain and bleeding around her brain, she hasn’t woken since the crash.”
The Chiefs said on Saturday they were still in the information-gathering process and had no further comment.
Reid, 35, has been with the team since his father was hired by the franchise in 2013.
He reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.
Police are investigating Reid for suspicion of driving under the influence. He told authorities that he had two or three drinks that evening, according to a police report.
Chiefs and Buccaneers in Super Bowl showdown
The Chiefs went through a final practice at their Kansas City, Missouri, home field before boarding a charter for the trip to Florida.
The accident did not appear to be a distraction for the Chiefs, with a pool report indicating players appeared in good spirits during the morning walk-through session.
“Good energy,” Andy Reid said. “It's important to have that.
“This was just kind of a review day, so we go back through all the situations and make sure we have all those covered.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chiefs opted to spend Super Bowl week at home and fly to Tampa only the day before the NFL championship game.
The Chiefs will face the Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV aiming to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since the New England Patriots in 2004 and 2005.
Tom Brady is also going for a seventh ring, while Patrick Mahomes, the apparent heir to the quarterbacking summit, is seeking a second in a row with Kansas City.
Brady, 43 is in his 10th NFL title game, but with a new outfit, the Buccaneers - who happen to call Tampa home.

“There's a lot that comes along with the Super Bowl,” says Rob Gronkowski, the three-time champion tight end who came out of retirement to reunite with Brady.
“There's a lot that comes along with this week.
“But just having it at home, cutting out the travel, knowing where you can stay, where your friends can stay, where you family can stay, it just makes it a lot easier to have it at your home stadium, big time.”
