James Courtney has reportedly been mocked by a number of Supercars rivals over a series of Instagram photos with girlfriend Tegan Woodford.

Courtney and Woodford have posted a number of photos in recent times showing the Supercars driver performing household chores in the background of her modelling shots.

Courtney is regularly seen in the background of Woodford's racy snaps as the model poses in lingerie and bikinis.

The Tickford driver has been seen mowing the lawn, baking and picking up dog poo while his girlfriend is looking her best for the camera.

And while it all seems to be good fun, Courtney's antics have reportedly drawn the ire of a number of his fellow drivers.

According to The Daily Telegraph, some of Courtney's rivals have nicknamed him 'the handbag'.

“Is he showing off or just being her handbag,” one driver told the newspaper.

James Courtney cops backlash over photos with girlfriend

In August, Courtney was forced to apologise to fans after copping backlash over one racy Instagram post of himself and Woodford.

The Supercars star shared a raunchy snap of his partner sitting on a stool next to the kitchen bench dressed in black lace lingerie.

Courtney appeared to be preparing a meal behind Woodford, captioning the post with: “Could you at least pass me a spoon babe?”

After receiving quite a bit of backlash, Courtney replied by saying: “Stop hating, start baking.”

The 41-year-old then issued a lengthier apology on an Instagram story, saying he was just trying to lighten things up in a challenging time around the world.

“I’m sorry if my post yesterday upset a few people, I thought it was funny and would make people laugh in these tough Covid times,” he wrote.

“The world is already full of so much hate.

"We don’t need to add to the already out of control cyber bullying epidemic.”

Last year Courtney had a brief relationship with Kyle Clarke, the ex-wife of former Australia cricket captain Michael Clarke.

The pair were seen kissing at Mount Panorama when she visited him during the Bathurst 1000.

Courtney and Woodford then went public with their relationship in April.

“Happy Birthday to my beautiful Tegan. You’re a very special woman that’s brought so much laughter and happiness into my life and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner,” he wrote earlier this year.

“I love you and love doing life with you.”
